The Foundation of the Hellenic World (FHW) is a private not-for-profit cultural institution in Athens. Its foundation was ratified in 1993 by unanimous vote of the Hellenic Parliament.

Its mission is the research and preservation of tangible and intangible assets of the Hellenic history, in its broader geographic evolution, using state-of the art technologies.

It has developed important expertise that combines cultural/historical information with virtual and augmented reality, as well as the development of innovative technologies in the multimedia field, being one of the leading European organizations.FHW has successfully implemented a great number of large scale projects and has gathered specific know-how on content design, structuring and methodologies for the visualization of historical and cultural content, developing on the same time significant resources available to the scientists and the wider public either on the internet or in its cultural center in high-end systems such as virtual reality theaters and multimedia exhibitions.

FHW has implemented European, as well as national, Research & Development, Cultural and Educational programmes within its scope. FHW collaborates with many important research and cultural institutions, government agencies, universities, museums, and other institutions worldwide.
