gi-Cluster
gi-Cluster is the first creative industries cluster established Greece. It comprises of small and large companies, academic and research institutions, all involved in the Gaming and Creative Technologies and Applications Industry and forms a domestic, industry-led value-chain developing high-tech, state-of-the art competitive products for the international market.
Since its establishment in 2012, Corallia acts as the gi-Cluster facilitator and orchestrates the design and implementation of all its initiatives and actions, always in alignment with the clusters’ mission to become a world-class, fully operational innovation ecosystem, which will contribute towards elevating Greece in the global competitiveness charts.
In sync with global cluster management standards, initially introduced in Greece by Corallia, the Vision "create locally | compete globally" and the scope of establishing the message "Innovation Designed in Greece” critically determine the cluster’s operation for they form the guiding framework for any activity designed and undertaken within the gi-Cluster.
The offering of guidance and entrepreneurial support to cluster members by the management team seeks to achieve:
- increase of both short and long-term productivity, turnover and export;
- support employment growth via new job creation;
- strengthen international presence and members’ orientation by utilising the strong international network offered by the gi-Cluster facilitator to the entire ecosystem;
- improve competitiveness and business readiness levels.
Governance
The aim of the gi-Cluster Management team is to achieve smooth and at the same time, successful implementation of the Business Plan of the cluster, offering tangible benefits and equal opportunities for development to all its members. The successful execution of the Business Plan and the provision of respective strategic guidance for the benefit of all members is a priority of the Governance Council, consisting of the cluster facilitator and five industry members, while effective planning and execution of all cluster activity, are a crucial part of the Cluster Managers’ duties, who has been appointed by the Governance Council for general management and coordination. The Governance Council is supported by individual subject matter experts, who have been assigned particular supervision and monitoring responsibilities with the scope of providing skillful advice in respective fields for the gi-Cluster’s optimal growth and viability.

Today, Corallia has developed and manages a total of three innovation clusters in targeted technology areas and contributes, via targeted actions and initiatives to continuously improve the environment for the prevalence of the productive and growth-oriented potential of the country. At a European level, Corallia is established as an equal speaker on policy matters related to the strengthening and promotion of a strong European economy through the exploitation of all scientific and entrepreneurial talent found in Europe in specific sectors and regions, while it has designed and implements in Greece youth entrepreneurship support programs and manages common office spaces, known as innohubs.
